The East Cape
Just an easy 45-minute drive from the Los Cabos International Airport, you will find the area commonly referred to as the East Cape. The southern part of the East Cape is a favorite of surfers in the summertime with surf spots in La Fortuna, Los Frailes, Nine Palms, and reaching all the way up to Punta Colorada. Near the north end of the East Cape is the famed fishing town of Los Barilles, as well as the Cabo Pulmo National Park to the south, boasting world-class snorkeling and sea life. Amidst the desert landscape, the waterfall oasis of Cañon de la Zorra and the lake town of Miraflores are must-see hidden gems just a short drive away. Unlike Cabo, which borders both the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean, the East Cape faces the Sea of Cortez, making for smooth seas, excellent fishing and world-class whale watching.
Lighthouse Point Estates
The prestigious gated community of Lighthouse Point Estates is a short drive from the town of La Ribera, just south of the brand-new Four Seasons Resort and Marina, and about 30 minutes south of Los Barilles. It is nestled between Punta Colorada and Punta Arena, both famed surf spots in the summertime. The world renowned snorkeling and sea life of the Parque Nacional Cabo Pulmo is just about 30 minutes to the south. Lighthouse Point Estates features a long stretch of fluffy white sand and a fully swimmable beach, free of rocks, and rip tides…perfect for swimming, kayaking, boating and jet skiing. If you’re lucky enough to be there in the winter or spring, you are likely to see the whales put on a show right out front! The tranquil beauty of this spot cannot be beat.
